Myanmar - A Case For Military Intervention
I cannot believe the world is letting a couple generals in Myanmar stand by in luxury while millions are displaced, sick, injured and hurt. Now the U.S. Navy is leaving after 15 attempts to deliver much needed supplies. I am not for military intervention in a country that is not a threat to the U.S., however in this case I am not so sure military force isn't an option. I am sure the 31st MEU led by the USS Essex could easily handle the job of securing the leadership until the job is done. But we will respect the rights of the military junta who live in luxury palaces while the rest of the country suffers............ hhhhmmmmmmmmmmm

I thought the same thing as you at first, but today I'm overjoyed - my husband is coming home! He'll finally get to meet his now 5-month-old son.
In the meantime, I will continue my prayers for the people, especially children, of Burma. I know that it's been a tough few weeks for our guys in the Essex fleet - while they were sitting off the coast of Burma having three meals a day, all they could think about was how helpless they felt knowing that RIGHT THERE were children starving, eating trash, and ultimately dying while they could do nothing to stop it.
Congratulations.... I know how you feel. I spent 8 years in the Navy and grew up as a military brat. I know how difficult it can be when husband and daddy are deployed. It is a tragic situation in Myanmar....
